Zeitgenössische Oper Berlin
The American composer Morton Feldman and the Irish poet and playwright Samuel Beckett – an extraordinary meeting of two brilliant excentrics who, at the same time, were kindred spirits. Becketts libretto contains just 87 words, dealing with the impenetrable mystery of the human existence, the restless as well as hopeless search for sense and self, the impossibility of salvation. A veritable anti-dramma per musica for one single "protagonist", the lonely soprano. One hour of music theater which hides its immense riches behind a façade of monumental frugality.

Neither:
the fascination of the pure word and the pure sound, something which simply floats.

NEITHER - Text by Samuel Beckett
